Commerce and Investment Undersecretary revealed government’s plan to import food items to supply to all ten states.
Simon Nyang Anei said the government put aside 126 million South Sudanese Pounds for procurement of food, medical equipments, building materials and fuels, Bakhita Radio reported.
He added that in two months the government would execute the plan to import food for states.
Mr Nyang said 10 million South Sudanese Pounds is set for food supply in Upper Nile state, 10 million Pounds for Jonglei State food and fuels and 10 million Pounds for food supply in Unity State.
A South Sudanese business man based in Juba Amin Akasha said he had enough food supply in store to feed the whole country.
He said so far in store in Juba he had 20, 000 sacks of wheat flour, 12, 000 bags of sugar, 7,000 bags of beans and 8,000 maize flour bags.
Mr Akasha added that more are on the way to Juba from Mombasa port.
The businessman is bidding in advance, saying his company would sell at affordable prices.
