Some Western Bahr El-Ghazal head teachers on Tuesday raised concern that some learners attend classes with guns causing panic to teachers and disrupting smooth running of school activities.
The head teachers complained to State Education Minister Michael Chan Madut, warning of suspending schools due to fear, Voice of Hope reported.
The State Education Minister urged school authorities to seek permission from the ministry on any decision to suspend lessons.
Mr. Chan reiterated that Western Bahr El-Ghazal especially Wau town is safe and the schools are free to operate normally.
The minister said any security threat that might hold off learning is the responsibility of the ministry to communicate to schools any recommended action.
More than 50 schools head teachers gathered to get security assurance.
