Rumbek Central County Public Health office on Thursday morning during an inspection caught six national and foreign sex workers burning condoms after exposing them to children, dragging the six prostitutes to court.

Assistant Public Health administrator Tito Taban Mayek said children were using the condoms as balls for playing in nearby homes, Good News Radio reported.

He explained that they caught the ‘prostitutes’ as he termed, burning condoms and that they must appear in court to answer why they were polluting the environment.

One of the accused women who did not want to be identified denied the allegation, saying they were only burning empty bottles and mango tree leaves.

She challenged the officials to say the truth to receive God’s blessings.

Many children around Rumbek town mistake condoms for balloons.
