Yei River County on Wednesday instructed fathers and mothers to immunize children against polio and measles as it launched a seven day campaign.
Commissioner Juma David Augustine called on development partners in the health sector to cooperate to reach children in rural areas, Easter Radio reported.
He instructed parents to ensure that children are immunized against the six killer diseases.
County Health Department Director Simon Loro said the country has 750 cases of measles with 80 deaths recorded from December to February in 2014.
He revealed that three suspected measles cases recorded in 2012 in Yei River County showed two positive results in laboratory analysis.
Mr Loro also added that out of 23 suspects of measles in 2013 two deaths were recorded.
The seven day campaign runs from April 23 to 30 2014.
