International Rescue Committee, IRC in South Sudan would save malnourished children in Panyijar County of Unity State and Bor of Jonglei State.
IRC staff Elsheikh Abdalla said the organization received 46 thousand tones of plump nuts shipment on Thursday that would be distributed to help save lives of hundreds of malnourished children in the country, Bakhita Radio reported.
He added that the organization also provide vitamin A and de-worming to local communities affected by the ongoing conflict.
UNICEF Nutrition Specialist Priscilla Nicholas said the nutrition status in South Sudan worsened even before mid December crisis.
She added that with the ongoing conflict the nutrition situation may doubly decline.
Ms Nicholas said UNICEF needs 30 million US Dollars to help children suffering from acute malnutrition in the country.
She appealed to donors to continue supporting nutritional programs in South Sudan.
