African Education Trust, AET is training mothers to strengthen girl child education through a project known as ‘Strengthening Village Education’.
AET Project Officer Gala Jane said the organization trained 25 mothers from different schools to teach girls on the importance of education, Bakhita Radio reported.
She added that the mother trainees teach girls on the importance of education and moral behaviour.
A mother trainee from Rukwe Basic School Rose Poni Dominic said the training enabled her to educate young girls easily.
She testified guiding girls to revise and avoid skin bleaching, early marriage and business while in school.
A girl Pasquina Matudut said a mother trainee teaches her to respect, avoid bad dressing, bleaching and conducting business.
The Project Officer said they were working on modalities to address girl child school dropout problem.
