Network of Education and Empowerment for Sustainable Services Acting Program Coordinator disclosed that the number of street children in Yei River County dropped from 115 in 2013 to 70 in 2014 in the Centre.
Taban Samson on Monday attributed the drastic fall to the political crisis and parents realization of their children best performances in education, Easter Radio reported.
He advised parents to treat their children fairly to prevent them from going to streets to avoid development of negative attitudes in communities.
Mr Samson urged the government and development partners to support the Centre to educate many street children in the town.
The Coordinator warned that failure to prevent the many children from going to the streets would encourage upbringing of community traitors in the future.
Mr Samson said many children went to streets due to poor parental care and orphanage.
