UNMISS trains Catholic University students on GIS

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS on Thursday trained Catholic University 32 fourth and fifth years’ students in Wau on Geographical Information System or GIS and Global Positioning System or GPS.
 
UNMISS GIS Assistant Chief Mawa Tito told Voice of Hope that the aim of the training was to help students use GIS and to upgrade their skills after graduation.
 
He said the training would enable the students to learn practical parts of GIS and use the knowledge to train other people.
 
The GIS Assistant Chief said UNMISS conducted several trainings to line ministries including Agriculture and Physical Infrastructure.
 
Mr Tito called on all students and other government sectors to acquaint themselves GIS for collecting data.
