Danish Demining Group head of Programme disclosed on Friday in Juba that over 740 dangerous areas equivalent to sixty percent remain insecure and mines risk in South Sudan.
Julian Hocken told CRN that they cleared 1,465 areas in the country especially and that bulk un-demined areas remain in Greater Equatoria region.
The official explained that the impact of explosive remnants of war was the obvious danger to people’s health, safety and denial of land and other resources to people.
Mr Hocken advised citizens to consult with the Mind Action Authorities first before visiting a new area to avoid going into a dangerous place.
He expressed their readiness to give information they gathered.
He urged the warring parties to end the conflict to avoid more mines in the country.
