Shilluk MPS condemn killing of people in Malakal

Shilluk members of the National Legislative Assembly on Monday strongly condemned the killing of their people in Malakal of Upper Nile state.
 
Minority Chief Whip and SPLM-DC Caucus chairman Andrew Okony Ayom said forces loyal to Riek Machar killed children, women and the elderly without respect to human life, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
Mr Okony lamented that dead bodies were lying everywhere in the state and animals continue to feed on them.
 
He added that women and girls were raped and houses reduced to ashes.
 
Mr Okony urged the national government to equip the army capable to defend the country.
 
He suggested dissolving Upper Nile government and forming a new one because it run away leaving people to die.
 
The Minority Chief Whip urged the warring parties to respect and implement the agreement signed on January 23.
 
He called on the international community to intervene and provide humanitarian aid to the affected places.
