Yei Municipal authorities announced that they now own assets left by individual Arabs after passing “government property recovery bill” on February 20 to 27 among six bills.
The Municipal Legislative Council chairperson for Land, Roads and Bridges Khemis Noah said all buildings and other property left by Arabs would be recovered from individuals and owned by the government, Easter Radio reported.
He urged citizens living in Arabs’ buildings and government land to quit without any quarrel.
Mr Khemis said a committee would carry out assessment on the assets possessed by some individuals to recover them for the municipality.
He ordered citizens to stop building new houses within the vicinity of the municipality without authorisation.
The official told the press on Thursday that violators of the order would face the law.
