Lakes government denies detaining youths

Lakes State government denied having a hand in the detention of five youths in Rumbek.
 
Government Spokesperson Dut Makoi Kuok told Good News Radio in a phone interview on Tuesday that he was aware of detention and interrogation of some individuals at the Criminal Investigation Department CID but did not know why they were detained.
 
He added that the detention was in accordance with the laws of the country.
 
Mr Makoi did not specify the charges labelled against the five detained youths.
 
Five youths including staff of Lakes State Legislative and United Nations Mission in South Sudan are reportedly detained at National Security Offices in Rumbek.
