St Mary Yambio Catholic Charismatic Renewal Group is leading in the second week of prayers and fasting for peace in South Sudan.

Anisa Radio reporter visited St Mary Yambio Catholic Parish,  talked to the group and got testimonies and expectations for peace in South Sudan.

Catholic Charismatic Advisor Justin Ngari said through prayers, fasting and God’s mercy, the conflict in the country would end soon.

He urged both government and church leaders to often read the Bible to gain God’s wisdom of quality leadership.

Mr Ngari said the conflict was because when many leaders gain power they only satisfy their interests and do not care about the wellbeing of citizens.

Another member Justin Yaguya said on Friday they prayed, fasted and listened to lectures on how peace should start and be maintained in the family and every level of the society.

The Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio Diocese Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala on January 12 launched 21 prayer and fasting days for peace in the South Sudan.
