The International Committee of the Red Cross or ICRC called for respect for medical and humanitarian workers while providing services to people in need in the country.
ICRC head of delegation in South Sudan Melker Mabeck appealed to both parties to spare the wounded and sick people, medical facilities, vehicles and its personnel at all time.
In a statement on Thursday, he called the parties to comply with international humanitarian laws to allow safe access of humanitarian aid workers.
Mr Mabeck said every party involved in the fighting has a fundamental duty to protect humanitarian staff and health facilities to enable ICRC continue delivering services.
