The Council of ministers in its meeting on Friday applauded Justice Minister on progress in investigation of 11 political detainees and urged him to expedite the process.
Government spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth told journalists in Juba that Justice Paulino Wanawilla reported progress in the investigation of political detainees.
He added that the outcome of the investigations would be evaluated based on evidence to prove the status of detainees before making it public.
Mr Makuei said there was no time limit set for the investigation process.
The spokesperson said there was high probability of signing cessation of hostilities soon.
Mr Makuei said he and the Chief government negotiator Nhial Deng Nhial were still consulting the President Salva Kiir a reasonable time he declined to specify.
