Wau residents expressed different reactions to the crackdown by security authorities on young people wearing tight trousers and T-shirts.

Security operatives started moving in residential areas and markets catching those with tight trousers after Wau Municipality Mayor Arkangelo Anyer Anyer issued an order banning nigger dressing codes and behaviour.

Voice of Hope interviewed some of the citizens within Wau town and came out with different views concerning the crackdown on tight dresses and illegal nigger parties.

Monica Hakama said it was good to make people aware about what is going to happen before the implementation.

Elizabeth John Mingere explained that the way young people were dressing did not match with traditions.

She added that young people should not follow foreign ways of dressing.

Nathelina Daniel Durub said when one dressed decently she or he would be acceptable in every society.

The order was followed by brutal arrests and humiliations by security officers against youngsters.

Niggers are urban gangs of youths that disrupt public life.
