President appoints ministers, integrates rebel leaders

The President of the Republic on Friday evening issued five republican decrees appointing two ministers and integrating pardoned rebel leaders in the army.
 
Salva Kiir Mayardit appointed Awan Guol Riak as Minister in the Office of the President and Deng Deng Hoc as Environment Minister to replace Abdalla Nhial Deng who was sacked on Tuesday.
 
Mr Guol is a former Lakes State Deputy Governor and a businessman .
 
The President relieved Mr Deng from the position of Undersecretary in the Ministry of Education without announcing a replacement.
 
President Kiir also appointed Kueth Kang Dang as new Chairperson for the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and Martha Nyamal Choat Wol as Deputy Chairperson.
 
The President also integrated and commissioned pardoned rebel leaders Major General Gabriel Tang Chan, Brigadier Thomas Mabor Dhol and Colonel James Gatwech Joak as officers in the SPLA.
