A three-day HIV Aids counselling and testing campaign kicked off on Friday in Yei County targeting 1,000 clients.
Yei River County Aids Commission chairperson Issa Chris told Easter Radio that the commission organized the campaign in collaboration with St Bakhita Health Centre.
He encouraged citizens in Yei River County to come for the free HIV Aids counselling and testing service to know their status.
Mr Issa said the World Aids Day remembers those who died due to the disease and represents an opportunity to make people aware of the HIV virus.
He added that in Yei River County there are almost 3,000 people being treated for HIV.
The three-day campaign launched on Friday in Yei’s Freedom Square concludes on Sunday followed by the commemoration of the World Aids Day on Monday.
