Tombura County farmers were declared the winners of the 2013 Agriculture show in Western Equatoria State.
The display of agricultural produce ended on Friday with the distribution of awards, Anisa Radio reported.
Tombura County Farmers’ Union was the winner with 392 points followed by Yambio County Farmers Association with 11 points less.
Maridi and Mundri West counties both took the third position.
Tombura Farmers Union was rewarded with a motorize tricycle, Yambio Farmers with a motorcycle and Maridi and Mundri West received bicycles, wheelbarrows and agriculture tools.
State Agriculture Minister West Yugule strongly advised farmers to form associations to produce in quantities to reach good markets.
Deputy Governor Sapana Abui thanked the state ministry of Agriculture and the partners for strengthening farming and forming farmers in the state.
He reiterated that agriculture remained the priority in Western Equatoria.
The State Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperatives and Environment organized the third 2013 Agriculture Show for all Farmers’ Cooperatives, Unions and Associations in the ten counties of the state.
