The ruling party issued a statement condemning the ‘attack launched by David Yau Yau on Twic East County of Jonglei State over two weeks ago.
The SPLM General Secretariat ‘strongly condemned the tragic armed assault by David Yau Yau on innocent civil population of Ajuong and Pakeer Payams’, the statement CRN received Friday evening said.
The SPLM conveyed condolences to the families affected by the ‘barbaric act.’
It urged Yau Yau to accept the amnesty offered by the President of the Republic and stop maiming and killing innocent civilians.
The SPLM said 79 people died and 88 were wounded in the attack. 43 houses were burned, 24 women and children abducted and 25 thousand cattle stolen.
