World Health Organization or WHO and the national government on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding for health services delivery in Juba.
WHO Regional Director for Africa Luis Gomes Sambo said the document was a unified step forward for cooperation between the UN organization and the government, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said the document helps WHO to deliver better services to the people of the country.
The Director said the organization is committed to deliver health services in the country as it does in other countries.
Foreign minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the document represented the commitment between WHO and the government to work together to reduce health indicators.
He said the collaboration with WHO can reduce child and maternal mortality rates which are among the highest in the world.
The national Health minister Riek Gai Kok witnessed the signing ceremony between WHO and the Foreign Ministry.
