Experts from government and non-government organizations are validating the National Harmonized Curricula and programmes for vocational training in South Sudan.
National Labour Undersecretary Hellen Achiro Lotara said the absence of vocational training policy and curricula did not allow unified examinations and accreditation in the country.
She added that forming vocational training centres in the country will be simple when the National Council of Ministers adopts the training policy and programmes.
The Undersecretary noted that the policy will make certificates recognizable.
Ms Achiro appealed to the youth to go for vocational technical training in order to create self employment and get jobs easily in the private sector.
She urged the government to empower instructors’ competency at the training centres.
South Sudan has four government vocational training centres in Juba, Wau, Malakal and Aluakluak, in Lakes state, for women, and a number of private ones.
