South Africa National Congress or ANC delegation on Tuesday visited Juba to deepen and broaden relationships with SPLM.
ANC Vice President who headed the delegation Cyril Ramaposa told the press at Juba International Airport that President Jacob Zuma sent them to implement a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two parties five years ago.
He expressed pleasure in visiting South Sudan after gaining its independence.
Mr Ramaposa extended South African greetings to South Sudanese, expressing pleasure, hope and willingness to support the country’s prosperity and total independence.
SPLM Deputy Secretary-General Ann Itto said the MoU focuses on empowering SPLM and ANC to better take care of their policies.
She added that the MoU also aimed at empowering women and youth, building solidarity across the region and development of economy and social status of the people of South Sudan and South Africa.
The two parties will meet to review the Memorandum of Understanding and develop implementation modalities to realize strong ties between Juba and Pretoria.
