The President of the Republic on Wednesday promised to reduce the number of army through Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration or DDR in order to reserve money for development in the country.
Addressing 290 ex-combatants graduation at Mapel, Salva Kiir Mayardit said the army was taking a lot of money which affect service delivery to common citizens, Voice of Hope reported.
He said the reserve money would be used to build more schools and provision of other necessary needs for the people of South Sudan
President Kiir thanked donors for their support and asked them to continue with the same programs in the future.
The ex-combatants from Greater Bahr El Ghazal underwent a three-month vocational training in agriculture, masonry, plumbing, mechanics and construction, English and simple mathematics.
