The National Legislative Assembly or NLA permitted ministries of Environment and Petroleum to enact laws for regulating oil companies to protect South Sudanese and environment in oil producing areas.
MPs on Tuesday accused oil companies of only having interested in money and caring less about lives of people.
Some of the MPs recommended checking oil fields and giving reports to the assembly every three months.
They expressed concern that nationals working with oil companies were not considered for medical check up as it used to be done to foreign employees.
The MPs also recommended protection of communities from toxic chemicals in the oil producing areas.
