A mobile operator national staff will resume their work on Tuesday after a one-day strike on Monday against the company’s mistreatment.
Vivacell national staff representative Deng Peter Garang warned that they will continue with strikes if their demands are not met in the joint meeting on Thursday.
Mr Deng explained that low salaries, lack of allowances, inequality and discrimination against national staff forced them to strike after many complaints in vain.
He added that the company blocked them from forming a union and terminated some national staff who insisted on the union.
Betty Benet said Vivacell management always threatens female workers by issuing to them unnecessary warnings.
She added that some key positions that could be handled by nationals are always given to foreigners.
Vivacell Human Resource and Public Relations Director Jago Adongjak said the management was in a consultative meeting to find a resolve the national staff strike.
