A man in Yei River County threatened to set fire on St Michael Chapel under Christ the King Parish of Yei Catholic diocese after destroying a house constructed last Wednesday.
Omar Samuel said he will burn the chapel if Christians reconstructed the house he destroyed, Easter Radio reported.
He claimed that St Michael Christians constructed the chapel in his plot and used his teak for constructing the house.
An eye witness said Mr Samuel destroyed the house at 4 o ‘clock in the morning and hunted for whoever comes to question his actions.
The eye witness denied that the plot given to the church belongs to Mr Samuel and he had no teak in the place.
After mass on Sunday, St Michael Christians marched to their parish priest officeto report Mr Samuel’s threats.
