Handicap International trains disabled focal persons

Handicap International on Tuesday gathered 18 focal persons from various ministries for a workshop to increase their knowledge on disability and human rights in Juba.
 
Handicap International Advocacy Officer Henry Swaka Joseph said the workshop was to enable the ministerial focal persons to mainstream disability in their ministries, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He urged participants to include disabled personspolicy in their ministries and lobby for their development.
 
Director-General in the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Nathan Wojia said they rehabilitated disabled centre on Juba–Yei road for artificial limps and other therapists.
 
He added that the government trained specialists to maintain the centre.
 
Mr Nathan said the government is constructing a big centre in Rejaf to accommodate disabled people from the ten states.
 
He added that the government was seeking for partners to support the programme.
