Western Bahr El Ghazal state parliament on Thursday summoned the acting Finance Minister to explain the delay of July salaries.
MP James Giir Wol of SPLM party list moved a motion before the August House questioning the finance Minister for keeping employees’ salaries, Voice of Hope reported.
He said the salaries should not delay because most employees rely on them for livelihood.
Minister Zachariah Joseph said Juba sent July salaries without the state share of revenue collections which constitutes four percent to top up salaries.
He pointed out that the ministry cannot pay employees without the four percent.
Mr Zachariah said the state team headed by Governor Rizik Zachariah was still consulting the national government in Juba on the missing amount.
The state parliament resolved to form a committee to find quick solutions to salaries delay.
This is the third time state salaries delayed for almost two months.
