The National Legislative Assembly on Saturday approved President Salva Kiir’s appointment of James Wani Igga as vice-president.
Information chairperson in the Assembly Joy Kwaje Eluzai said over two third majority from different political parties cheerfully received and unanimously passed the appointment of Wani Igga.
Ms Kwaje praised Wani Igga’s personality saying he is a national veteran and will be of great help to the president and the nation.
She said Wani Igga was a committed man since the liberation struggle days until now.
The Assembly accepted Wani Igga’s resignation from speakership.
Deputy speaker Daniel Awet Akot chaired the sitting during the endorsement.
The vice-president Wani Igga’s is expected to take oath of office on Sunday.
