The Director-General in the ministry of Social Development said community awareness is the only solution to reduce rural-urban migration.
Bol Majok urged the government to enlighten villagers on the importance of staying at home, Good News Radio reported.
He pointed out that ministries of state Social Development, Rural Development, Agriculture and national ministries of Interior and Defence should lead the campaign against rural-urban migration.
Mr Majok said the five ministries should play their role in telling people that they should stay in their villages because no towns without villages.
The Director-General attributed the influx of people to towns to poverty and insecurity.
Many people are everyday pouring into small towns and later to big ones in search of services.
