South Sudan Chamber of Commerce and Industry planned to conduct training on the shipment of goods from East African ports to the country.
Secretary-General Simon Akuei Deng said the training aims to enhance the Chamber on extensive knowledge of shipping industries for effective transportation, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said another purpose of the training is to achieve instructive trade gains in export and imports.
Mr Akuei added that the workshop will sort out some difficulties facing the Chamber and identify how insurance can be taxed from one direction to the other.
International Standing Committee on Shipping Secretary-General Kenneth Mwige said through the workshop, South Sudan can join the shipping council.
He added that the council will give voice to South Sudan national exporters and importers.
The training workshop is expected to bring together 22 regional experts and business people and 40 South Sudan’s businesspeople.
