A Muslim cleric in Wau called on David Yau Yau to cease violence and respect the will of the people to enjoy peace and unity.
Sheikh Altieb Akech urged Yau Yau to accept the presidential amnesty and end the suffering of people of Jonglei, Voice of Hope reported.
He said if Yau Yau rejects people’s call, he will be petitioned to God.
Sheikh Alkech urged government officials to distance themselves from corruption to assure that South Sudan is built on a strong foundation.
He added that every person must participate in the national reconciliation and open a new page in the history of the country.
The Muslim cleric called for wise use of natural resources to benefit all citizens.
Sheikh Akech concluded his message by calling on leaders in the government to listen to their elders and religious leaders.
