Yei River County Youth League chairman urged the state Government to properly define the dowry prices to avoid violations and ease youth who want to marry.
Joseph Sallah Jeremiah said elders were overcharging dowries leading to the neglect of children because parents cannot afford to pay high dowries, Easter Radio reported.
He called on the government to give support to youth vocational training to help equip them with skills to earn a living.
Mr Sallah said the government forgot those who cannot afford to continue with their studies due to financial hardships.
The Youth League Chairman was speaking on Tuesday during the second independence anniversary celebrations at Yei Freedom Square.
