The national prayer for healing and reconciliation process is meant for young generations that grew up during the war to unite and accept one another.
Vice President Riek Machar Teny told the gathering at Juba Football Stadium on Monday that reconciliation was to give young people a chance to accept one another in order to work together to develop the country.
He said people should accept and benefit from the diversity that God gave to South Sudan.
Dr Machar called on the citizens to take the message of reconciliation to those who had no time for attending the national prayers.
He said each person present at the prayer service was a messenger to deliver a reconciliation message to neighbours and beyond.
Dr Machar, National Legislative Speaker James Wani Igga, national and State MPs, ministers and church leaders gathered in Juba Football Stadium on Monday with hundreds for the National Day of Prayer for Healing, Peace and Reconciliation.
