The moment for national healing and reconciliation to receive God’s forgiveness has come to South Sudan.

This is the plea of Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak of Wau, a member of the Committee for National Healing, Peace and Reconciliation, Voice of Hope reported.
.
Bishop Deng said in order to release energy for construction, rehabilitation, resettlement and reintegration, people need to deal with all aspects of life that were wounded during the war and seek forgiveness, reconciliation and healing.

He added that it was also necessary to seek compensation because when harm is done it is not enough to say sorry, but it has to be redressed.

Bishop Deng called on all Christians and Muslims to come together for the holistic event to reduce obstacles for peace and forgiveness.

The Bishop said ‘we have to pray because most people do not know what wrong they did to their brothers and sisters during the war.’

Bishop Deng reminded that in order to reach spiritual healing, every person needs a moment of fasting and prayer.

He stressed that when the stomach is full there is little chance for the message of God to enter the minds.

Wau diocese celebrated the National Prayer Day on Monday at Freedom Square.
