The communities of Maridi and Mundri West counties in Western Equatoria State resolved amicably their disputes over their common border.

Mundri West County Commissioner Lexon Maburuk said the two communities confused the border line in Langua and affected the two counties on the civil servants’ salaries, Anisa Radio reported.

He said this confusion was there for quite a long time without the notice of the higher authorities.

Mr Maburuk explained that state education minister Pia Philip Michael send him a message asking whether Langua lied in Mundri West or Maridi because the teachers in Langua claimed to be paid from Maridi County.

He said last month he met Langua residents to find out where they exactly belonged.

Mr maburuk said the meeting ended successfully identifying the border line at Lafa Bridge.

He announced that a peaceful celebration will take place in Langua on August 15 as the historical day chosen for planting the Maridi and Mundri West border signpost.
