The National Legislative Assembly passed the Broadcasting Corporation Bill 2013.
The bill was passed from the third to the fourth and final reading with amendments and observations on Tuesday.The Broadcasting Cooperation Bill 2013 now goes to President Salva Kiir Mayardit to be enacted into law.
The chairperson of the Committee of Information, Telecommunications and Culture in the Assembly, Joy Kwaje Eluzai, presented the bill for the third reading to the House.
She said the committee scrutinized the bill to ensure its conformity with the Transitional Constitution and other laws.
Ms Kwaje read out some of the observations, recommendations and adjustments proposed by the committee.
She said the board of directors shall consist of nine members who shall be persons of integrity.
The Government will fund the corporation for five years from its inception.
