WAU COURT SENTENCES 11 TO DEAD, 2 TO IMPRISONMENT

Wau Special court handling December’s violence cases in its final sitting on Friday sentenced 11 people to dead by hanging while sentencing the chief and the juvenile child to imprisonment.

Farajalla Chief Martin Teyai, was sentenced to ten years prison service while juvenile Justine Karlo was sentenced to five years under correctional and rehabilitation services.

The court declared the final verdict according to South Sudan Penal Code, 2008 over killing of six farmers working in Farajalla area.

On June 4, three of the 16 suspects including state assembly MP Angelo Marcello, Feki, chairperson of Wau Youth Anthony Soukoni and Joukondo Vostino were released due to insufficient evidence.

Farajallah case took three months to reach final ruling due to some judicial challenges.
