Amdurdu residents in the Nuba Mountains expressed are excited and happy following the eagerly waited rainfall after crops in their farm land dried up.

Raduwan Jaran Arandi, a local chief from Latiny area in Amdurdu said during the first rain people sowed seeds, but dried up due to lack of rainfall.

He said now people are replanting crops.
Another lady in Gidel, Sarah Aur Majiri, said she was worried about rain but now she is in high spirit to replant her seeds.
Ms Anur urged people to control their domestic animals from entering the farm lands because they will destroy germinated crops.
She explained that the Nuba community that relies on farming is likely to experience hunger this year due to inadequate rain.
