A Catholic priest in Western Bahr el Ghazal urged the government to stop all tribal conflicts ongoing in Jonglei and in the country.
Fr Moses Peter Joseph made the appeal during the solemnity of the Holy Trinity at St. Mary Cathedral in Wau, Voice of Hope reported.He said the celebration of the Holy Trinity was a day for the communities to change their hearts, unite and work for more blessings.
Fr Peter said people who were involved in the conflicts were making more destruction than development in the country.
He explained that selfishness is the major problem that destroys communities of South Sudan.
The cleric said some people have weak faith to work for justice but God is working to change their lives and make their faith strong to work for the poor.
Fr Peter added that many leaders in the country do not want to listen to the citizens’ needs and aspirations although the same citizens voted them into power.
The priest encouraged the government to take care of conflict situations before they worsen.
Fr Peter urged government officials always to listen to their people.
