Christians and clergy expressed gratitude and warmly welcomed the appointment of Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator.
Excitement and chants of appreciation filled the Church on Sunday as Fr Arkangelo Lokoro read the appointment letter to a congregation at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral in Torit, saying Fr Thomas Oliha was Torit Apostolic Administrator, Radio Emmanuel reported.He told the congregation that the appointment of Fr Oliha was done by the Vatican from list of names submitted by late Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek.
Fr LokoroÊ explained that the appointment is administrative.
Fr. Santino Lounoi, Director of Radio Emmanuel, described Fr Oliha as a priest with several years of experience.
