The Governor of Upper Nile did not allow an MP from the National Assembly to visit his constituency.

MP Peter Beshir Bendi, representing Maridi at the National Legislative Assembly, alerted the House for the fact, saying it was a violation of constitutional rights.

He said Governor Simon Kun Puoch blocked the MP’s visit and deported him to Juba because he did not seek his permission in writing beforehand.

The MP said the block violated the constitutional right of movement.

Mr Beshir said Governor Kun violated the Constitution and committed an act of treason by not allowing the MP to travel to his constituency in Upper Nile.
