Juba County Commissioner warned citizens of purchasing illegal plots from land grabbers in Eastern Gumbo, on the East Bank, outside Juba.
Stephen Wani Michael told reporters in Juba on Wednesday that land grabbers established an office in East Gumbo, popularly known as Kadoro, to allocate plots illegally.Mr Wani revealed that his office failed several times to stop the activities of land grabbers in East Gumbo.
He warned citizens not to buy illegal plots in the East Bank of the Nile.
Mr Wani explained that the land grabbers are selling plots for 1,200 pounds to civilians and 450 pounds to the military.
He said Juba will expand to the East Bank and illegal plots will be destroyed to make room to town development.
The County Commissioner commented that innocent buyers may fall victim of illegal activities in all unauthorised settlements in Juba.
Mr Wani revealed that a group of people who perpetuated violence in Komiru over land issues was now grabbing land in East Gumbo.
He announced that the Government will not tolerate illegal settlements.
