The South Sudan Border Team arrived in Wau to verify the implementation of the matrix on security cooperation between South Sudan and Sudan.
The team met Tuesday afternoon with state Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan to discuss the border situation, Voice of Hope reported.National Cabinet Affairs deputy minister Wek Mamer Kuol, who is also the deputy chairperson for South Sudan Border Commission, told the press in Wau that South Sudan is committed to implement the recently signed timeline to create a demilitarized corridor along the border.
He explained that the withdrawal of the SPLA from the border areas was part of that implementation.
The team is expected to visit the border areas between Western Bahr El-Ghazal and Sudan.
