Twenty-three suspects arrested in relation to Wau December’s deadly violence are on hunger strike for the second time since Monday demanding that their files were taken to the court.

The suspects were arrested since December 4 last year but have been kept in Wau Central Prison while awaiting trial.

Lawyer Kur Wol Kur told CRN through a telephone call that among the strikers there were MPs, a former minister, a former county commissioner, some police officers and youths.

CRN tried to confirm the strikes with Wau Prison Director Michael Butuku. He said it was the first time he was hearing about the hunger strike in his prison.
