WAU STUDENTS DESPERATELY AWAIT UNKNOWN EXAMS

Secondary school students in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal, say they are ready fir the Sudan School Leaving Exams despite ignorance of the exact date of exams and this is worrying candidates.

They urged government officials in the National Ministry of General Education to release thee exams’ timetable immediately.

These reactions came after students of Wau Girl and Mbili Girls secondary schools started inter-schools intensive coaching on March 13.

Students who came from different schools expressed their dissatisfaction to Voice of Hope over the delay of exams and its psychological impact.

Linda James, from Wau Girls, appraised teachers for coaching.

She complained that this coaching lesson started, because exams were expected on April 8 but so far there are no news about exams or the timetable.

Linda explained that the coaching was in lecture form, with two hours for each subject from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

John Luka from Wau Complex said that the delay has left student confused and wondering since frustrating rumours are spreading daily.

He added that what makes students more vulnerable and helpless is that the index number which is normally released two months before the exams has not yet been announced.

Diana John, student of Mbili Girls, said that she cannot revise because she doesn’t know the exact date for the exams and that she has lost all her hope.

Hall John of Mbili Girl urged candidates in South Sudan to be optimistic and patient.

She called on National Ministry of Education to look again into issue of exams data.

National Ministry of General Education in South Sudan and Sudan signed a deal allowing South Sudanese students to sit for Sudanese Secondary exams till 2014.

The exams used to arrive in mid March.
