The Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio condemned the use of pills for birth control during his Easter Sunday sermon.
Eduardo Hiiboro Kusala said people know natural ways to prevent or space the birth of children, Anisa Radio reported.He added that it was a crime for anyone to take advantage of ignorant communities to propagate the contraceptive pill.
Bishop Hiiboro requested any person or organization dealing with family planning to seek the local wisdom and discuss with the elders or the government what needs to be promoted.
Bishop Hiiboro prayed and blessed the people of Western Equatoria State to produce more children to fill the land.
At the end of the Easter celebration Bishop Hiiboro distributed orange and avocado seedlings to 14 young and old, male and female persons.
He asked them to take care of those seedlings and when they grew into trees to share them with others in order to be ambassadors of good news.
