A clinic in Changaru, Umdarain locality of Nuba Mountains, has run short of drugs.
A local source said the clinic had no drugs to treat the sick and that there were no means of transport to transfer patients to other health centres. The source added that many sick people, especially children and the elderly, remained at home without treatment.
The source said due to lack of medicines, people turned to local herbs that provide no effective treatment.
Many primary health care centres in the SPLA-North controlled areas in Nuba Mountains are not operational due to lack of drugs following the breakout of war in 2011.
The Khartoum Government denied any humanitarian assistance to the people in Nuba Mountains since the war started.
