Morobo County Commissioner met a team from AMREF, the Africa Medical Research Foundation, to discuss ways to strengthen the County Health Department.
Commissioner Moses Simon Soro said the County Health Department lacks a medical doctor, has few nurses, the hospital is not fully established, and there are few primary health care centres in the county. He also pointed out that the influx of Congolese refugees affected the delivery of health services to the local people.
Mr Soro encouraged AMREF to put more effort on the development of the health sector in the County.
AMREF County Project Coordinator Jamba Agnes said the organization was running two projects: polio immunization and intergraded services delivery program on health related issues in the County.
She added that AMREF was going to deliver quality services to the people in all the heath facilities in Morobo County for three years.
